My name is Aledia, Latin for “small winged one” is what my momma has told me it meant since I could remember. Thanks to Google, today I was able to confirm that fact. I was born and raised in Omaha, some 40 odd years (I mean, who is counting anyway). I have birthed 3 extraordinary young Kings, ages 22, 16, & 4. These gentlemen are not only the apple of my eye, the constant beat to my heart but also the “Sun”shine to start my day. I have also birthed a beautiful little girl which I was a easy bake oven (surrogate) for another family. I am blessed to say I have been able to travel the world with my Community Drill Team, My professional dancing career w/”Country Grammar himself Nelly & the St. Lunatics, my surrogacy journey, and lastly business in drones & artificial intelligence. But this place OMAHA…. has always been home.

My personal birthing experiences with all my children influenced many conversations I have had w/ other people. So much so that friends and family have ask that I help them prepare “birthing plans” for them. After one very insightful and motivating conversation with a very special young lady about my own experience but also my loss and grief of my first grandson Kaiden (Hence the “K” in Companion of my business name) I knew in that very moment that was what I was called to do. My life would be forever changed!!!

I wanted to be a part of one of the most memorable days of a persons life…

How a person is viewed, is treated, and the support give (or lack there of) during the birth of their child/children can make the difference between the most remarkable experience and feeling like they just walked out of the abyss!

I have obtained my Birth Doula (BC) certifications with DONA International. I am a Lactation Consultant (LC). I am also currently undergoing advance training in the TENS unit, Placenta Encapsulation, and becoming a certified Childbirth Educator. Lastly I am Co-Founder of the Omaha Black Doula Association.

My role as a doula is to educate my families on their options and to help create an ideal plan for labor & delivery. I will be there during your labor, birth of your child/children and shortly there after to support emotionally and physically. I will make sure that you and your choices are respected while also reminding you that you have the strength to advocate for yourself during this challenging but exciting time!!
